What she says...

Here are few things that Enna-Marie says when she talks to us:

Mom: "Enna-Marie can you help me?"
EM: "Of course mom, I can help you".

Mom: "Thank you sweety."
EM: "You're welcome!"

One time EM sneezed and no one said anything. She said, "Mama can you say bless you to me, please?"

When EM learns mama is sad, she tells her...
EM: "Mama, I will make you happy". Then she pats her face or shoulder.

Before bath time EM asks papa: "Can I have some bubbles and can I wash my hair?".
Papa: "Can you ask mama if it's okay."
EM: "M-o-o-o-m...Can I wash my hair and can I have some bubbles?"
Mom didn't answer as she is busy doing something in the kitchen.
But EM goes back to papa anyway and said: "My mom said it's okay." :-)!

In the morning when she wakes up, she happily tells us...
EM: "I slept by myself. I don't need mama and papa." (meaning she slept by herself in her own bedroom and didn't go to mama and papa's bedroom)

Each night before she sleeps, she asks her mom: "Can you give me a massage? Mama nods her head as a sign that she's in agreement with her. Then while getting a massage and hearing some lullabies, she turns to mama and says: "I want to give you a hug and a kiss." And then she says the beautiful words: "I Love You!" (sometimes "I Love You So Much!") ... :-) :-) :-)!

EM knows that it is good to share a toy, food, book, anything we have. So when a friend (or classmate) of hers shared something with her, she reports to mama or papa: "My friend _____ shared with me today. That's nice." Then she goes..."because Abdul-Baha said we should share." And vice versa when she happens to share something with a friend, auntie or uncle, she reports the same to us.

Nice love story on Valentine's Day

Here's a love story that recently happened on Valentine's day in Manila, that I would like to share with you all. I found and read this in the blog of
Jim Paredes, the writer himself, who is one of the members of the long-standing famous musical group back home called the 'APO Hiking Society'...hope you'll enjoy it as well...

A few days before Valentines, we got a call from a young man who booked APO for a most unusual engagement: he wanted us to sing one song to his estranged wife on his behalf. When the call came, we were so delighted that we immediately said yes.

Yesterday, at 9:15 AM, Danny, Boboy and I met this young man at a Starbucks in Makati. He said that he had to make a gigantic effort to win his wife of two years back. They seemed to have made of mess of things big time. We did not care to probe more and find out the details. He said he would be happy if this major effort of inviting us to sing to his wife would result in her saying yes to even just having coffee with him. Lunch, or dinner will hopefully follow in the future and if his plans and prayers turn out right, he would like to have another weddimng ceremony with her to start anew.

The plan was simple. Someone would go before us to the girl’s office which was a building across Starbucks, approach her office cubicle with a bunch of flowers. A minute later, we would enter and sing accompanied by just a boombox, the song “PANALANGIN”.

At around 9:30, a messenger bearing a bouquet of red roses proceeded to her office and promptly handed her the flowers. Before she knew it, Danny, Boboy and I were there near her cubicle serenading her. The sight of seeing her with the expressions of shock, delight and being overwhelmed was simply priceless! Althroughout the song, she blushed, sang a few lines, and beamed a shy smile.

Soon after we started singing, everyone in the office stopped working, got out of their cubicles, brought out their cellphone cameras to capture the event.

After the song, amid shouts of ‘more’ from her smiling officemates, we kissed her on the cheek and whispered, ’somebody loves you’, and promptly exited her office.

Back at Starbucks, the young man who hired us for this unique gig was so happy that everything worked. We thanked each other and wished him the best of luck. From there, we proceeded to Bellevue Hotel in Alabang for our Valentine rehearsals and show that evening.

A few hours after the serenade yesterday, we got a text from the young man to tell us his wife called him to thank him and that they had scheduled lunch!!!

Ahhh…. it’s nice to be Cupid!

Play time with Lillian

This is my friend Lillian who is a year and 3 months old. She and her mom Selvi visited us today.

We missed each other's company as we didn't see each other lately. She lives down the street. You need to get down the stairs to get to her house coming from our place. I know exactly where she lives, everytime we pass the street I always point it to my mom and say "that's Lillian's house".

So now I want to play with her or first I say..."hello Lillian"!

...and oops...I want to lean on you...

...or hug you...!

...I want to touch your hair...

...and touch your chubby cutie cheeks...!
