Ballet show...

Mommy and Enna-Marie recently watched a ballet show entitled "Sleeping Beauty" together with Carmel and her dad uncle Jalal. It was the Israeli ballet dance company who performed so beautifully, they come and perform once a year in Haifa. The girls (of course mommy and uncle Jalal as well) greatly enjoyed the show as they both like to dance ballet themselves.

Hanukkah program in pre-school

Early this month, a special Hanukkah program was celebrated at Enna-Marie's school. There were a lot of singing of Hanukkah songs, lighting of the menorah candles, playing some instruments, a play portrayed by two classmates, and eating of sufganiyot at the end. Sufganiyot is a ball-shaped doughnut that is first deep-fried, then pierced and injected with jelly or custard, and then topped with powdered sugar. EM and mommy have been buying sufganiyots as early as November as we just love them. Of course daddy also gets his share.

Israel's 60th Independence Day

Last night the celebrations for Israel's 60th anniversary started with fireworks and a laser show on Ben Gurion Avenue here in Haifa. While Maarten stayed home to look after Enna-Marie, Menchie and some of her friends went down to the bottom of the Terraces to get a closer look at the happenings down there.
