Ayyám-i-Há Festivities

Sorry we neglected to blog as we have been busy this past week due to the Ayyám-i-Há festivities. Starting with Monday, we had a party at our Mother Goose class, then Tuesday was a special day where the children in the Rose Garden and Brilliant Star classes joined together and made cookies for the staff in the Office of Personnel. On Wednesday, we (me and four other moms with our girls) visited our friend Cllyv and daughter Sheehan in Akka. First we visited the Shrine of Bahá’u’lláh together, and then headed off to Cllyv's house and had a delicious lunch. We had a good time there and hope to do this again. On Thursday there was no Rose Garden class, but instead brought our kids to Kat Katim indoor play area in the Castra mall. In the evening we had an Ayyám-i-Há party for all the families that was held in the PRC. For the last couple of weeks I have been preparing some materials for the stationery card making that I volunteered to handle during the party. I am glad some children (and even moms and other friends) came to our table and enjoyed making their own cards for different occasions (Ayyám-i-Há, Ridvan, Naw-Ruz, Birthday, etc.). The last party we attended was Friday's party with the Filipino friends where we were only able to participate in the sing-a-long portion and of course another delicious dinner (the friends had exchange of gifts and played some games before we came).

We wish our families and Bahá’í friends a Happy Ayyám-i-Há and a blessed fast!

Welcome back Ariana & Tara...

Auntie Farzana and Ariana as well as Auntie Sieni and Tara just got back recently from their vacation (India and Samoa respectively) and so at Mother Goose last week, we gathered, sang together and enjoyed each other's company. Later Tara and Enna-Marie found a huge empty box of a toy and decided to sit and play there.

Menchie as mother goose

I had the bounty of being the goose in our singing class today with our babies. I have introduced few songs from the ones that we already know. It's funny that yesterday, I was singing all these songs just to be familiar with the order, even at shower and sleeping time (yep I can sing to myself without opening my mouth, you guys do that too isn't?). It's quite a lot of songs actually, but most of them are short. To help and guide me with my presentation, I wrote the title of each song on a piece of paper in case I forget. It indeed helped me. Enna-Marie was cooperative in the beginning and somehow in the middle part, but towards the end she decided to get up and tried on some of her aunties shoes at the hallway.

Amelia's last Mother Goose Class

Our dear friend Amelia had her last 'Mother Goose on the Loose' class last week as she and her family are leaving the World Centre soon. She has been handling the class for quite some time now after Katharine, she is the 'goose' who leads the singing. We learned lots of nursery rhymes/songs in this class and I am thankful to her for that. These songs are amazing, very helpful in entertaining my dear daughter whether during feeding, changing diaper, toothbrushing, driving in the car with a crying baby...really they are means to avoid boredom in young toddlers. I took some photos of the class...enjoy!

tickeling Shiori

a song about monkeys jumping on the bed and one gets hurt

this one is about birds flying on the clouds, children learn the difference of the sounds being soft and loud.
